it remains to be true that inside every little girl is an elegant lady. who just so happens to be brought to life at afternoon tea. this sunday, i was privileged to play photographer for the birthday event celebrating the sweetest just-turned-twelve-year-old. the guests dropped in one by one and anxiously waited inside while the finishing touches were being done. straw hats with bows were placed upon heads, feather boas were set on shoulders. and finally the girls gathered on the back porch under canopies and paper flowers hung by string. with pinky fingers pointed and lips pursed, they had the grandest tea party the world had ever seen. the sudden need to speak in british accents occured. as did giggles. and the tasting of delicious scones, cucumber sandwiches, lemon curd. and the drinking of countless cups of tea. everybody had a lovely time.
happy birthday, beautiful Sophie xx
