i've been out of town for the past week, vacationing with my dear friends. although it may look like it, i'm not neglecting my blog, promise. lately i've just been simply soaking in life (so has my camera, and i have photos to share). and taking in what time i have with my loved ones now.
there's something about being at the beach. its almost like you fall into a swing of lazy day living. sleeping in till late morning, changing from pajamas to a swimsuit. shoes are forgotten. you walk barefooted out the door and onto the balcony. fresh salty air rushes into your nostrils, a breeze plays in your messy hair. a soft ding sounds as you press the button for floor one on the elevator. down, down, down you fall. swing open the gate outside, you follow the winding path through the people. children splash in the pool. parents lounge on chairs by the side. another gate is swung open. white is everywhere, soft and blinding. sand sifts lightly between your toes as you step quickly. the wind catches your towel as you attempt to lay it out neatly. your skin is baked warm by the sun. then you run for the water. waves carry your body gently, swaying you as if they were a pair of gentle arms. suddenly the sea surprises you, taking you under. salt stings your eyes and chokes your throat. stumbling, you stand and pull seaweed from your hair, doing the best to compose what's left of you. then your toes sink deeper into the soft wet ground beneath you. a flock of gulls pass by overhead, their calls echoing. you turn your head and see the sun dipping down beneath an endless horizon.
and you realize, you might just be in paradise.
a quick heads up! i'll be leaving in the morning for the ocean. yes, i know, again. see you lovelies in a week. xx
