my family and i took a week of escape the week before last. you know how it is, sometimes we all just need to get away. this was especially needed, as the kids were soon to start the school year, and my mom's chemo treatments beginning again too. so we made a little trip down to my grandparent's sea side cottage. it was paradise all over again.
relaxing inside, wrapped in blankets, and watching old television shows. going to dinner at local restaraunts. rinsing off in the shower on the deck after coming back from hours on the sand. morning stretch routines and refreshing long walks on the beach. but most of all, being together as a family. its times like these when i realize how blessed i am to be close to my siblings and my parents. and yes, it wasn't easy coming back and leaving the ocean behind. but i have my loved ones here with me.
