The challenge this week over at i ♥ faces is for the best face of January. 

I immediately thought of this one.

This has to be my favorite photo of my little sis.

Her eyes are full of wonder. 

i ♥ faces "winter wonderland"

The theme over at i ♥ faces this week is winter wonderland.

I wanted to enter a newly taken photo for this one instead of picking one from my last snow shots. There was only one problem: the snow had melted. So E and I made some snowflakes of our own and used a white duvet for the backdrop of our winter wonderland scene.

i ♥ faces "smile"

The contest theme this week over at i ♥ faces is smiles. And here's something to smile about; their website's second birthday is this week! I know I'm not the only one who loves entering the challenges & reading their photography advice. I've met many amazing photographers and bloggers through i ♥ faces... and that makes me smile.

For this challenge, E & I cut out smiles from magazines, and of course, she picked the one with the mustache. This girl makes me grin. What person in your life makes you smile?

Out of all the faces I captured this year, something about this photo draws me in. I shot it one afternoon in September, on a walk down the lane. It was one of those moments when she looked into the lens, with innocence and brilliance, one of those moments I rarely have the chance to capture.

i ♥ faces "pets"...

The theme this week over at i ♥ faces is "pets".

I can't tell you how excited I was to take some more of my sweet Hodge {like I don't  have billions of photos of him already}. He's such an amazing subject when it comes to a photoshoot. All he wants to do is to please me, listening intently to any small command I give him. I was just coming inside from the photoshoot, when I turned around and found him sitting on the porch. He was whining, his tail swaying from side to side. He wanted just one more picture.

The contest theme this week over at i ♥ faces is self portrait. 

Being the photographer, sometimes I get so enthralled in snapping shots of others, that I forget to capture myself. Amongst the fingerprint smudges, I took this one in the rear-view mirror of my car {no worries, it was still in park}. Be sure to take a gander at the other self portraits.

 The contest this week at i ♥ faces is scenic black and white.

I'm entering last-minute... partly because I didn't want to enter an older photo, but didn't have time to get any new ones to fit the theme. However, I'm entering anyways. 

I'm going with a self-portrait on this one.

i ♥ faces "silhouette"...

The theme for the challenge this week over at i ♥ faces is silhouette.

I couldn't wait to start shooting for this one. But much to my dismay, the past several days have been without my beautiful sunshine.

So, I improvised. The kids had their little friends over one day to play...

and a few of them were sitting in the window in E's bedroom. It was so cute. I took a picture.

The bright winter-like sky illuminated through the window... it turned out to be sort of a silhouette.

So here's my entry. My whole family gathered for a cookout one evening this summer.
I was walking around snapping shots when I looked over at my Poppy and little S.
They were in deep conversation.

The theme this week at i ♥ faces is beach fun.
My family spent a couple weeks this summer in Florida. And boy did we have fun!
I started snapping pictures as soon as my feet hit the sand. I took this one right as E and S reached the ocean.
As you can see, they were both overflowing with excitement.
