collecting memories

it feels as though lately the memories are piling up. almost like my collection of them is growing. i guess when you think about it, we all have a stash of memories inside our heads. made up of primarily the good times and fond moments. in quiet they wait. there they stay, safe and sound. waiting to be taken out, dusted off, and thought of. perhaps a few of these become forgotten, and a single mentioning can bring them to life again. like an old friend who makes you smile. or causes laughter. or sometimes tears. if we truly do learn from our experiences, then our memories are much more than we think them to be. they are round records, encrypted with lyrics from our past. they are words written in ink, pencil, pen. they hold pictures and magnificent scenes our eyes have seen. from the earliest we can remember, to the making of the next...these memories are ours to keep. so i say keep 'em coming.

  2. You are an amazing writer. I loved this. I think about memories a lot. I think it's neat how even though you may leave a place, the memory will still be there. God's pretty cool, eh?

  3. i love memories. they help me hold on to people i miss and have lost. they can also make me laugh so hard tears stream down my eyes.
